I was bored so I decided to write a poem. Well, a few poems. But I only have one typed up so...
Note: This is a companion to the "Jumper" series, and takes place before the first installment. Rated PG-13 for suggestion of suicide. (or whatever else you interpret it as)
To Corey, who really needs to go to her own house now and then.
Disclaimer: Lucas doesn't belong to me. But my Ensign Wolenczak clone does!
Hehe!
Mother can hear me?
Father can you see me?
Am I just a piece of baggage
Sent to you to care for
Until the day it's finally time
For me to spread my wings and fly.
And fly I will, one day soon
Fly from heights unheard of
But flight, dear flight
Taken from my grasp
And thrown to the bottom of the sea.
No flight for me, just fish
And fish do not have wings
This I discovered as a young child
Having once thrown a trout from a boat
So now I am a fish, and flight is beyond my grasp
For now, at least.
The time has come, yes time to fly
I leave the boat tomorrow
And rest assured, I've cleaned my room
Of all things damning, of all things me
They will not find my hidden secrets,
Or read of my silent tears
Which is all very well and good
Because to them, I am not human.
Mother can you hear me?
Father can you see me?
No, you won't be able to
Six feet up above me
One more look down, and now it's time
To spread my wings and fly.
